Plugin for Visual Studio
Guide3 stepsVisual Studio 2022 & 2026
The Lexeri plugin brings your termbase into Visual Studio: it checks the open document for preferred and forbidden terms and searches terms without leaving the IDE.
The plugin adds the “Lexeri” tool window to Visual Studio. In it you can:
- Check documents: the term check checks the active document and lists the preferred and forbidden terms it contains. Click a match to select it in the editor; repeated clicks move on to the next occurrence. Replacements are applied in the editor as a single undo step.
- Search terms: look up terms and their details in your termbases.
- Extract terms: find candidates for new terms in the active document (for users who may edit the termbase).
When you switch to another document, Lexeri marks earlier check results as outdated, so they are never applied to the wrong file.
Requirements
- Visual Studio 2022 or Visual Studio 2026 (Community, Professional or Enterprise)
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime – installed with current Windows versions; if it is missing, the tool window links to the download
- A Lexeri account with access to at least one termbase
Step 1: Install the plugin
Install the plugin from the Visual Studio Marketplace or right in Visual Studio via Extensions > Manage Extensions (search for “Lexeri”). Then restart Visual Studio.
Step 2: Open the tool window
Open the tool window via View > Other Windows > Lexeri.
Step 3: Sign in to Lexeri
Sign in with your Lexeri account in the tool window and confirm the sign-in in your browser. Term check, term search and term extraction are then ready to use.
